More abouttoads
It’s a common myth that touching a toad can give you
warts. While toads often have bumps on their skin, they
don’t actually give people warts! The small, rough bumps
protect toads from predators.

Lots of animals shed. Just ask any pet owner! But most
don’t eat what they leave behind. Toads aren’t ones to
waste a good meal though. They shed their skin, push it
into their mouths, and eat it. A skin sandwich may not
be your idea of a tasty treat, but toads make good use
of the protein that’s found in this slippery snack. And
bonus: eating their skin ensures they won’t leave a trail
behind for predators who want to see them croak.
