It is 2020.
The North Sea between
Britain and northern Europe is
severely overfished. By 2012,
90 percent of Europe’s stocks of
large fish had been overfished, and
in 2016 stocks of cod and herring
collapsed. This means that almost
no fish remained. Local fishing
boats have gone out of business.
Cod is now a luxury fish, and fish
and chip shops have disappeared.
