Most cicadas
are plentiful. But three kinds are not.
They are the Cassini, decim, and decula
periodical cicadas. They all live in
North America. The International Union
for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists
these
species
as near threatened. This
means that they could die out. To protect
these cicadas, people must try to avoid
spraying bug poison and polluting the air
and groundwater.
