The most serious threat to reticulated pythons,
however, is humans. The rainforests where these snakes
live are constantly being damaged by logging and mining
projects. The other human threat comes from a completely
different place—the world of fashion.
Every year, thousands of reticulated pythons are
killed simply for their skin. Snakes have beautiful
patterns that help protect and hide them in the wild.
Pythons are sometimes able to escape other animals,
but humans still create problems for them.
