Working in Music - page 4

Albums are fun to listen to. But
creating a record takes a lot of time.
It can also be expensive.
That is where music producers
come in. They are musicians’
mentors. Musicians need help
making recordings sound their best.
Producers give bands advice. They
help bands with song lyrics. They
recommend session musicians.
Music producers also direct how a
record gets made. They schedule
time in a recording studio. They
make sure deadlines are met. Some
help arrange the song order on an
album. Others supervise sound
engineers. They tune instruments
and test microphones to make sure
everything works well.
A music producer must be good at
math. Many manage the budget.
They keep track of how many albums
are sold.
Producers give
artists advice on
song lyrics.
