Unsung Heroes of the Super Bowl - page 9

Falcons defenders for a ball thrown
by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
The ball was deflected into the air.
Edelman went down with the three
Atlanta players. He grabbed the
ball before it hit the ground. Inches
separated Edelman’s hands from the
ground. He never let the ball hit the
ground. Brady called it one of the
best catches he has ever seen.
The Patriots soon scored a
touchdown. James White scored
it with 50 seconds in regulation.
A conversion pass from Brady to
Danny Amendola tied the score at
28-28. The Patriots won the game in
overtime on another touchdown run
by White.
THINK ABOUT IT
Do you think you could make a
catch after the ball was tipped
and deflected off two players?
What would be the most difficult
part of the catch? You would
have to keep your balance. You
would have to focus on the ball.
And keep the ball from touching
the ground.
