Orangutans
Orangutans are part of the great apes family. They live on
Southeast Asian islands. They’re the largest animals to live
in trees.
Orangutan moms avoid predators. They cheat by building
nests in trees. They build new nests every night. They
build over 30,000 nests in a lifetime. Their nests are strong.
They’re 15 to 100 feet (4.6 to 30.5 meters) above ground.
They’re safe. They protect orangutan babies.
