efore you start, you need some data. You can’t visualize
information if you don’t have any! Here are some common ways
that students gather data.
Science Experiments
Science class is probably where you use the word
data
the most.
Maybe you are doing a Science Olympiad egg drop challenge. In
that case, you might collect three kinds of data: how long it takes
for the egg to reach the ground (measured in seconds), the height
from which the egg is dropped (measured in feet or meters), and
how many eggs survived the drop. In another experiment, you
might measure how much water evaporated over 10 minutes of
high heat (measured in ounces or milliliters). You might also do
