watch and choose mates.
In winter, food is hard to find. The
moose lie down in loose, fluffy snow
to keep warm. When spring returns,
calves leave their mothers. Moose
reproduce
each spring.
By fall, calves weigh approximately
300 pounds (136 kg) after eating all
summer long.
