I gather what is left of my courage to face the
DARKNESS
and, groping along the wall, move
forward. My eyes slowly get used to the dark. Following
the winding path I come to a bend where, finally, I feel a
glimmer of hope. The tunnel is bathed in semidarkness—
I can see the walls.
I pick up my pace, wanting to get out as soon as possible.
It feels like it’s been
centuries
since the Zintrepids took
refuge in the cave. But is this still the same cave?
Yes!
Uh…no! I don’t actually know the answer to that question.
I mean yes as in,
HURRAH!
SUPER!
EUREKA!
Yessssss!
Because there is light at the end of the tunnel. My
worries ease.
I start running toward freedom.
