It’s hard to have hope
when you’re standing in a
valley of broken glass
Greta doesn’t have high expectations for her last year of
high school. That all changes when she meets Dylan and his friends, who
welcome her into their charmed circle. But the circle is not charming or
safe, and waking up after a party next to Dylan naked and disoriented,
with no memory of how she got there, leaves her feeling confused and
ashamed. At home, she and her twin brother, Ash, are subjected to
constant abuse from their stepmother, who convinces their father to
abandon the kids. Alone and broke, Greta and Ash fi nd shelter and
support in unlikely places, and much to Greta’s surprise, she realizes
there is still kindness in the world—and hope.
