ORIGAMI

It is believed that origami was first introduced to
Japanese society soon after the invention of paper.
Initially, it was considered an elite skill to be mastered
by Japanese nobles. Origami soon spread, however,
becoming a traditional cultural practice and popular
        art form throughout society.

Heian nobles (Japanese lords and ladies)
            folded luxuriously rendered paper called
washi paper to wrap gifts. The paper was
            hand-stenciled or printed with bright,
colorful Japanese floral images. Here, we
recreate this ancient tradition with some
stunning ideas for you to make your own
            special crafts and gifts.
