spacecraft to explore the solar system. They wanted to
see the planets up close. In 1979,
Pioneer 11
flew past
Saturn.
Pioneer 11
carried telescopes, cameras, and
scientific instruments to measure light and temperature.
The spacecraft took pictures and measurements of Saturn.
