ACTIVITY
Plant Prints What You Need:
• One of each plant part
(suggestions listed on
opposite page)
• Knife
• Paper towels
• Paintbrush
• Washable tempera paint
(one or more colors)
• Plastic plates (one for
each color)
• Heavy paper or poster
board
1 With an adult’s
help, cut large fruits
or vegetables in
half, blotting on a
paper towel to dry.
2 Brush a thin layer of
paint onto the plates.
Dip the flat surface
of the plant into the
paint. Then press it
onto the heavy paper
to make a print.
3 Repeat the stamping
with other plant parts
and other colors to What Do You Think?
make a picture.
