               their experiences.
                  The students’ words and sentiments are their own. They
               are a small sample size drawn from one community, not repre-
               sentatives of all immigrants or all refugees in the United States.
               But the experiences that brought them here—to Spokane,
               Washington, to my classroom—reflect the ongoing realities
               faced by refugees around the world.
