When information moves on the Internet,
the information travels in packets. Each
packet is like a suitcase full of words,
pictures, or videos. A packet carries up
to ,  bytes of information. A byte is a
group of š bits. A bit is the smallest unit
of measurement on a computer. Words
use fewer bytes than photos or videos do.
Everything sent on the Internet is
broken down into bits. So each message
you post on social media is made up of
bits and bytes in packets. The packets
split up, travel as fast as possible, and
come back together again into a message,
picture, or video.
