astronomers scientists who study mass the amount of matter
the universe beyond Earth in an object

atoms tiny building blocks that matter all things that contain
make up everything in the universe atoms and take up space

collide to crash together orbit to move in a path around
another object; the path is also
dynamite a strong explosive called an orbit

expanding becoming larger pillars tall poles used to support

fuel something that is burned a building or structure
to make energy and heat pressure the force produced

galaxy a collection of billions by pressing on something
of stars and other matter held telescopes instruments that use
together by gravity lenses and mirrors to make distant

gravity the force that pulls things objects appear larger
toward Earth, the sun, or other
        bodies in space
