                                        About the Author
Kathryn Hulick began her career with an adventure. She served two years in the Peace
Corps in Kyrgyzstan, teaching English. She did not have a cell phone and had to travel for
half an hour by taxi to use the Internet. But since her return to the United States, she em-
braced digital technology and began writing books and articles for kids. Technology and
robots are some of her favorite topics. Look for her books Careers in Robotics, How Robotics
Is Changing the World, and Robotics and Medicine. She also contributes regularly to Muse
magazine and the Science News for Students website. She enjoys hiking, painting, read-
ing, and working in her garden. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband, son, and dog.
