                    The US government has a plan for
                    healthful meals called MyPlate. Protein

                    and grains make up half the plate. Fruit
                    and vegetables are the other half.
                    Low-fat milk goes on the side.



                    Your body needs water. It keeps your
                    muscles and mind working right. You
                    can get water from foods like fruits and
                    vegetables!


                    A grain is the seed of a plant. Whole
                    grain foods use all the seed. They help
                    keep our hearts healthy.




                    In addition to healthful foods, physical
                    activity is important to stay healthy.
                    You should be active for at least 1 hour
                    a day. Try riding your bike, dancing, or

                    going for a walk.


                    Have you ever heard someone say

                    “eat the rainbow”? It means to
                    eat fruits and vegetables of all
                    colors. This helps you get vitamins
                    and nutrients.
