Barrel children were named after the shipping containers
                               Caribbean immigrants used to send supplies and goods home to
                               their children.



                             to the children they had left behind. They packed toys,

                             clothes, and money into circular shipping containers and


                             sent these home to help support their children. Because


                             of this practice, thechildren became known as barrel

                             children. This practice was still going on as of 2018.
