Who were the first Black Canadians? One
of them was six years old. He arrived in 1628.
No one knows his real name. They called
him Olivier Le Jeune. Olivier was a slave who
was born in Africa. Other slaves came to
Canada, too. White people brought them.
They took them from their homes in Africa.
