edges part of James Bay. The region
stretches into parts of Manitoba and
Québec but is mostly in Ontario.
HENRY HUDSON

Hudson Bay was named after Henry
Hudson. He led several expeditions
to North America. In 1610, his ship
was trapped in ice all winter. The next
spring, he wanted to keep mapping the
area. His crew revolted and took over
the ship. They put him and some crew
in a small boat. No one knows what

happened to them.
