substances is the gas
carbon dioxide
. The gas
fills the balloon. The more gas there is, the
bigger the balloon becomes.

A large clear plastic cup
1 teaspoon of baking soda

see the carbon
dioxide, then try
this experiment.
Add the lemon juice and watch
what happens. The bubbles are
carbon dioxide trapped in a thin
film of dish soap.
