Nanomedicine
Other studies target the early elimination of
bacterial
infections. Nanomedicine can be used to
destroy bacteria in the body within minutes instead of
requiring weeks of treatment.
Much work must be done to relieve suffering and
save lives. It is hoped that nanomedicine can wipe out
or at least weaken some of the world’s deadliest dis-
eases. The most critical of all is cancer, which is the
leading cause of death in the United States. It remains
to be seen if nanomedicine can help cure such dis-
eases. But this remarkable technology certainly has
the potential to aid in many types of treatment. It has
already begun to make a difference.
