of the greats.
Former teammate Matthew Dellavedova said of
Antetokounmpo that “he really could be anything.”
At 6-foot-11, Antetokounmpo is always one of the
tallest players on the court. He looks even bigger with
his arms spread because of his 7-foot-3 wingspan. But
he’s also so fast and such a good dribbler and passer
that the Bucks began using him as their point guard,
a position usually manned by players much shorter.
His unique combination of athleticism and skills
earned him the nickname “The Greek Freak.” It took
him just a few years to develop his abilities enough
to become not only an All-Star but also someone who
would be considered a candidate for the NBA’s Most
Valuable Player (MVP) Award.
“He’s an MVP candidate right now, and from what
I saw, he’ll definitely be in the (conversation) for the
next decade or so,” former teammate Greg Monroe
said early in the 2017–18 season. “That’s just the kind
of player he is.”
During the 2016–17 season, just his fourth in the
league, Antetokounmpo became the first player in NBA
history to rank in the league’s top 20 in total points,
