The battery is made up of several modules. These
modules are further divided into cells. Cells are the
basic unit of the battery. One type of Tesla battery has
7,104 total cells. But packing all that power into a small
place creates safety issues. Tesla takes several safety
measures to prevent fires. The battery is placed inside
a steel case. Sensors keep track of its temperature.
If sensors detect high temperatures, the battery
is disconnected.
