Who was
Rosa Parks?
In 1955, Rosa Parks chose not to give
up her bus seat for a white man. As
an African American, this was illegal.
Rosa knew this. By staying seated, she
stood up against racism. Her refusal
inspired millions to work for equal
rights. She is called the Mother of the
Civil Rights Movement.
