Americans for Safe Access (ASA)—www.safeaccessnow.org

The ASA’s mission is to ensure safe and legal access to mari-
juana for medical use and research. It advocates for patients’
rights to have access to medical marijuana without prosecution
under the law.

Citizens Against Legalizing Marijuana (CALM)
www.calmusa.org

CALM is a volunteer political action committee dedicated to
defeating any effort to legalize marijuana. It provides informa-
tion about different topics regarding marijuana as well as how
people can get involved and take a stand against marijuana
legalization.

Drug Policy Alliance (DPA)—www.drugpolicy.org

Actively involved in the legislative process, the DPA is the nation’s
leading organization promoting drug policies based on compas-
sion and human rights. It works to promote policy reform and to
reverse laws it considers harmful to society.

Marijuana Policy Project (MPP)—www.mpp.org

Founded in 1995, the MPP is the largest organization in the Unit-
ed States focused on ending marijuana prohibition. It works to
change federal law prohibiting recreational use of the drug and to
allow states to determine their own marijuana policies and regula-
tion free of federal interference.

National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)—www.drugabuse.gov

NIDA is a US federal government research institute whose mis-
sion is to apply science to the problems of drug abuse and ad-
diction. The organization offers information on the latest science,
trends, and statistics regarding drug abuse.
