        abuelo: the Spanish word for “grandfather”

        adopted: chosen to be part of a family and legally made part of that family


        aunt: your father’s or mother’s sister, or the female partner of an aunt or uncle

        cousin: your aunt’s or uncle’s child


        divorced: not married anymore, after a couple officially ends a marriage
