A red wolf pup can howl when it is
about three weeks old.
A red wolf always walks and runs on
its tiptoes.
A red wolf can run as fast as 30 miles
(48 km) per hour and can travel 20
miles (32 km) in a day.
An adult male red wolf is bigger than
a female. It weighs as much as 80
pounds (36 kg).
Although a red wolf usually eats prey
animals, including rabbits, rodents, and
deer, it also eats insects and berries.
