The first Canadian fair took place in Windsor,
Nova Scotia, in 1765. Hants County Exhibition
still takes place each year. It is the oldest fair
in all of North America.
Fairs began to spread across Canada.
Settlers brought the tradition with them as
they moved west across the country. Fairs
