• A summer tent has many mesh windows for
ventilation, a light color to reflect heat from
the sun, and a small fly that covers the top
half of the tent.
• A 3-season tent has good ventilation, a light
or medium color, and a waterproof floor. Its
fly covers most of the tent for good protec-
tion against rain.
• A 4-season tent has more support poles, a
dark color to absorb heat from the sun, and a
fly that goes almost all the way to the ground.
This is really a cold-weather tent. You’d roast
in a tent like this on a summer trip.
