From classical to pop, blues to rap, country to samba,

music comes in an almost countless number of forms,
and is enjoyed by people across the world. Over the
centuries, music has become more complex, exciting,

and varied. Yet, for all their many differences, all musical
styles have certain elements in common.

MUSIC THROUGH HISTORY

Music has changed and evolved throughout history. Over time,
new instruments have been invented along with ways of creating
permanent records of compositions—first in written form and
later as sound recordings. Music continues to change constantly
