The next day at school, Justin still had trouble
focusing on anything besides the Lions.
“Coach resigned,” Bryce reported at the
end of the day when the three friends met up
at Katie’s locker. “And Derrick and the other
guys were suspended from the team too.”
“How’s the rest of the team taking it?”
Bryce shrugged and opened a bag of chips.
“Everybody’s kind of shocked. But I don’t want
to win state by cheating, and most of the guys
feel the same way.”
“So Savino’s gone?” Justin asked.
“Not yet,” Katie said unexpectedly as she
closed her locker door. “I spotted him earlier
