shoots me a look, kind of similar to one I’ve seen
from Quinn when I’m talking safety measures. It
means:

. “Sorry,” I say. “I learned that on
my assignment.”
I close my mouth, ready for whatever lesson
Rhiannon has to teach. But Rafael leans over to
me again. “Really?” he asks. “You went swimming
on genie assignment?”
I glance over at Rhiannon before I answer.
“Oh, go ahead,” she tells me. “I’ll give you
five minutes to fill them in on your first genie
assignment. And if you take a second more, I will
be using some magic to settle everyone down.”
Everyone’s eyes are on me, which is making
me nervous. But I’m excited, too. This must be
how Quinn feels when her friends gather around
to hear what she has to say. I’ve never felt this
way before.
