A unicorn is a magical creature that looks like a horse with one
spiraled horn on its forehead. It is said that unicorns live in forests
and on mountains.
People in many parts of the world tell
stories about unicorns. But how did
these tales get started? Hundreds of
years ago, people made cups from
horns that they thought came from
unicorns. They believed if they drank
from these cups, it would protect
them from getting sick.
But these horns probably came
from small whales called narwhals.
