The Incas worked to honor and
appease
the gods. They built
sacred
sites
throughout their empire. Priests held
religious ceremonies at these places.
They left offerings of food and drink. The
Incas also prayed the gods would not
cause earthquakes or storms.
The Temple of the Sun at Ingapirca, Ecuador, was built
from stones fitted together without mortar.
