WELCOME TO

NORTH AMERICA

orth America stretches from a thin curve of

Nland near the equator to a vast area in the

Arctic. Oceans, seas, bays, and gulfs surround

the continent. Tens of thousands of islands dot

those waters. Canada, the United States, Mexico,

and Central America form the continent’s main

landmass. Central America has seven countries,

including Guatemala and Panama. Canada

makes up most of the continent’s north. However,

Newfoundland is a large island in the Atlantic
Ocean. It is part of Canada.
