Greenland is North America’s northernmost

territory. It is also the largest island on Earth.

Much of the United States is in the middle of

North America. Alaska is farther north. It lies

west of Canada. The United States has the world’s

third-largest population. New York City is the

largest US city. It is a major economic and cultural

center.

Mexico lies to the south of the United States.

Mexico City is the largest North American city. It

is a modern urban center. But the city is also one

of the oldest cities in North America. The area

was home to the capital of the Aztec Empire.

Many island nations and territories are east

of Mexico. This area is known as the Caribbean.

Some Caribbean nations and territories include

Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, and

Puerto Rico.
