WHAT DO T DO
YOU THINK?
YOU THINK?
Staying focused and “in the zone” is important in sports
and in life. You can get through challenging situations if you
can persevere through tough times and not let external
forces affect you.
Tony lost his composure when he felt a player was being
disrespectful to him. Have you ever lost your temper because
of something someone else did? How did you resolve it?
Tony may have been wrong about the other player’s actions.
He also may have assumed things that weren’t true. Have you
ever judged someone incorrectly? What happened? How did
you resolve things?
Coach Joh wanted Tony to see things from other people’s
perspectives. Why is it important to learn about differences in
others? How can that help us grow?
Stereotyping is applying a general belief to people of a
certain gender, race, culture, religion, or background. The
belief can be positive or negative. Why is this unfair? Explain
your thoughts.
How did Tony use what he learned to make himself a better
player, teammate, and person? What have you learned from
others that has made you a better person?
