THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE
The Bermuda Triangle is a very strange
place. This area of ocean is bounded by Florida,
Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. A number of ships
and planes have disappeared there. Most of
these vessels vanished without a trace. In many
cases, there was no call for help. Searchers
have never been able to find any survivors.
Wreckage has not been found either.
One case is perhaps the most famous. It is
the story of Flight 19.
It was December 5, 1945. World War II had
ended just a few months earlier. Five bomber
planes left Fort Lauderdale Naval Air Station.
They carried 14 men on a practice bombing run.
Their leader was Charles Taylor. Taylor was
very experienced. He had 2,500 hours of flying
time.
