For example, if you are outgoing and enjoy meeting new people,
you might try a sales or customer service position. Teens with an
artistic fl air may fi nd a rewarding part-time job in a marketing or
advertising fi rm. Animal lovers might discover working at a pet
shop or veterinary clinic to be their ideal job.
Income and Deductions
Once hired, you will be confronted with learning the details of
pay, deductions, and income taxes. Part-time jobs usually pay
a minimum hourly wage set by the federal government, which
was $7.25 in 2018. Many states, however, set their own mini-
mum wages that exceed the federal guideline. Companies may
