Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)—www.aa.org
AA is a membership organization for people who want to
address their drinking problem. It offers a 12-step program
and has support groups all around the world. Its website
provides daily refl ections on recovery and videos of people
discussing their recovery experience and how alcohol af-
fected their lives.
Center on Addiction—www.centeronaddiction.org
The center is a national nonprofi t organization that address-
es addiction by empowering families, working with health
care providers to offer treatment, advocating for public poli-
cies and resources, and eliminating the stigma of addiction.
Its website provides research, statistics, and information on
addiction, prevention, and treatment.
Just Think Twice—www.justthinktwice.gov
The US Drug Enforcement Administration created the Just
Think Twice website to provide information about drug use
and personal stories of young addicts as well as videos and
quizzes. Its drug index provides a description of each drug
and its paraphernalia. The website further highlights news
articles on a variety of topics related to substance addiction.
National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG)
www.ncpgambling.org
The NCPG aims to help people and families affl icted with
problem gambling. It advocates for policies to reduce the
effects of problem gambling, but it remains neutral about
