Catapults were used by pirates and medieval knights throughout history.
These machines are quite handy, as long as you know how to aim them!
Timeframe: 20 minutes
Materials
w 8 craft sticks
w 4 or 5 sturdy rubber bands
w school glue
w 1 plastic bottle cap
w cotton balls
Science takeaway
When you press down on the launching stick, you bend the stick and load it
with potential energy. When you let go, this energy is released. It turns into
kinetic energy and transfers to the cotton ball, which shoots through the air.
