THE OLYMPIC GAMES WERE POSTPONED FOR THE

FIRST TIME IN THEIR HISTORY DUE TO COVID-19.

As more and more people got COVID-19, organizations

made hard decisions. To keep spectators, athletes,
and staff from infecting one another, sports leagues

canceled games. To keep performers, staffers, and fans
safe, entertainment venues shut down. Movie theaters,

gyms, and swimming pools closed too. In late March,
the International Olympic Committee postponed the

2020 Summer Olympic Games. The world of sports and
entertainment screeched to a halt.
