                       “Snarling, bristling its fur, curling its lips to
                        expose its teeth, as well as snapping them,
                         are a wolf’s warning signs to back off!”











               As the five of them stood talking, they looked across the

               opposite end of the parking lot at the herd. The bison
               were once again peacefully grazing and  moving slowly
               away from them into the woods, but cars were streaming

               into the parking lot, stopping in the spaces nearest the big
               beasts. People started jumping out and hurrying toward

               the bison, cameras and phones raised.
                  “Excuse me. I’ll be right back,” Isabel said, shaking her
               head. “You won’t believe how often this happens.”

                  The ranger hurried over to her SUV and climbed
